I did a rice water rinse because my hair needs all the protein and strength before I use this bleach - peroxide which strips the hair and can make it dry and brittle. Don't worry using rice water before hair dye will not affect the hair dye because this is a natural product no harsh chemicals to mess it up etc. so you're all good. The best way is to actually do a protein treatment a day or 2 before you apply the hair dye but sadly I didn't do this I'm just doing it straight before.
